Turvey Allotments Welcomes Community Leaders to Celebrate New Funding
We were delighted to welcome Minister Darragh O'Brien, Mayor of Fingal Councilor Tom O'Leary, Fingal County Council Chief Executive Ann Marie Farrelly, elected members and council representatives to Turvey Allotments as part of the announcement of over €1.3 million in Community Climate Action Programme funding for projects across Fingal.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the important role Turvey Allotments plays in promoting sustainable food growing, biodiversity, renewable energy and community wellbeing. Guests toured the site, met committee members and allotment holders, and learned about the many initiatives that have helped create a thriving and environmentally friendly community space.
Turvey Allotments is proud to have recently installed an off-grid solar power system, supporting our commitment to reducing our environmental impact while improving facilities for members. The visit recognised the positive contribution community allotments make towards climate action, local biodiversity and bringing people together.
We would like to thank Minister O'Brien, Mayor Tom O'Leary, Ann Marie Farrelly and everyone who visited for taking the time to see our allotments and hear about the work being carried out by our dedicated volunteers and members. We look forward to continuing to grow as a valuable community resource for Fingal.
