Prepare beds for early sowing and remove any weeds, a good clean out of weeds will make control of weeds easier as the year goes on.

This month plant your early potatoes, onion sets, shallots (protect onion and shallot sets with a cloche), and broad beans outdoors.

Wait until there is a favourable forecast before planting outdoors.

Sow indoors/undercover: leeks, cabbage, scallions, celery, celeriac, Jerusalem artichokes and garlic.

Feed fruit bushes and trees.
